FastCAM
Spain
FastCam is an instrument jointly developed by IAC and UPCT, designed to obtain high spatial resolution images in the optical wavelength range from ground-based telescopes by the use of “lucky imaging techniques”.
IDOM designed and manufactured the opto-mechanical system, which was conceived to maximize the image scale stability of the system for astrometry. Required thermal and mechanical stability are achieved with the use of aluminum plates, carbon fiber (CFRP) rods and stainless steel mount.
