A powerful tool for managing public policies

The Ports of San Antonio and Valparaíso share the same hinterland, use the same routes and destinations, and cover the entire central macrozone of the country, where mining, horticultural and viticulture development poles are located, and the country’s main consumption centre, Santiago. With the aim of promoting the continuous improvement of logistics development, promoting integral projects and policies, the need to create a Model of Logistics Performance Standards has been identified. This is a scorecard of indicators aligned with strategic objectives of the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications, which measures the performance of the 5 main logistics chains of the country and references their results to standards obtained based on international best practices. This represents a powerful tool for managing public policies, allowing improvements to be proposed their implementation and performance to be evaluated.
