IDOM as reference engineering group for ITER project

ITER aims to demonstrate that nuclear fusion can be a viable future energy source. The project is considered to be one of the greatest technological and engineering challenges ever undertaken. IDOM is regarded as a reference engineering company for the ITER project, having participated in more than 20 projects covering a wide range of disciplines such as mechanical, seismic, civil, nuclear, structural, fluid dynamics and thermohydraulics. The design of the European TBMs, the detailed design of the cryopumps, the support of the neutronics and the integration design of the diagnostic ports seem to be some of the most important projects.

IDOM has been hired by Fusion for Energy (F4E), Domestic European Agency for ITER Project, and ITER Organization (IO) for the following 19 projects:
