IDOM was contracted by Jindal Shadeed Iron & Steel to develop the detailed engineering for steel foundry, whose capacity is 2 Mtpa of steel. It will be fed directly by a Hot Direct Reduced Iron plant (HDRI), with capacity for 1.5 million tons, annually. To achieve this production level, the furnace with a taping capacity of 200 t and a 200 MVA transformer, will also be fed with scrap.

Steelworks in Bolivia
Jindal Steel & Power has awarded IDOM the contract for the complete Engineering of the Mutún Steel Complex, whose scope includes the following:
- Pelletizing for 10 Mtpa
- 6Mtpa Direct Reduction
- Steel mill of 1.7 Mtpa, integrated with a lamination of 1 Mtpa for the production of bars
IDOM has developed:
- The basic and conceptual engineering and infrastructure of the aforementioned plants and the necessary services, such as the power network comprising a 450 MW combined cycle generation system, mechanical and instrumentation and control facilities
- Technical assistance in the purchasing phase
- Project management
- Construction supervision
