System maintenance audit of isolated systems

IDOM has carried out for the Government of the Canary Islands a technical audit to evaluate the quality of the maintenance process carried out by the operator of generation and transmission in an isolated energy system, as well as the revision of the criteria of the protection philosophy of the network.
The scope of the work carried out has included, among others, the following actions:
- On-site inspection of 9 power plants
- Review of maintenance plans
- Inventory review
- Review of preventive and maintenance corrective actions
- Fault analysis
- Proposals for improvements
- Revision of the disconnection of loads plan for the electrical system
- Review of the criteria of the protection philosophy
- Proposals to improve the operation of the network
