Narla Hydroelectric Power Plant – Supplying the province of Lugo

IDOM has carried out the detailed engineering of the project to supply various locations in the province of Lugo (Lugo, Outeiro de Rei and Rábade) from the Narla dam.
The scope of the services provided by IDOM has fundamentally included the following actions:
- Dam on the Narla River, with a concrete screen, 41.55 m maximum height on foundations and 415.50 m crowning length. Reservoir volume of 9.61 hm³ at N.M.N. (11.19 hm³ at N.A.P.).
- Hydroelectric plant at the foot of a 2,440 kW dam. Kaplan turbine, 8 m³/s of nominal flow and 31 m net fall.
- Potable water treatment station, with a nominal flow of 650 l, including a 1,500 kW pumping station and a treated water storage tank with a capacity of 9,330 m³.
- 14 km of supply pipes up to 800 mm in diameter (welded steel), including a crossing under the Miño River in the vicinity of Lugo.
