Taweelah (909,000 m3/day), the largest operating reverse osmosis desalination plant in the world

SEPCOIII once again entrusted IDOM to carry out the basic and detailed engineering within its scope for the Taweelah plant (909,000 m³/day), as well as the integration of the engineering developed by the technologist (Abengoa).
This project marks a milestone, as it includes a 70 MWp photovoltaic plant that helps reduce the cost of producing one cubic meter of potable water.
Additionally, this plant was awarded the Desalination Project of the Year in MENA by MEED in 2022.
