Developing the scheme design for several hospitals
UNDER AN INNOVATIVE PUBLIC/PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP (PPP)
To renew its public infrastructure, Mexico is using a dynamic and flexible formula that involves creating public-private partnerships (PPPs) for which companies can submit unsolicited proposals (Propuestas No Solicitadas – PNS).
During 2016 and 2017, at least 7 hospitals will be bid for under this public-private formula. These are restricted competitions, in which certain private consortia that meet the legal requirements are invited to participate.
This type of bidding is an opportunity for IDOM in Mexico. Drawing on our experience in the health sector, our firm can develop the architectural scheme design for the proposals of any of the chosen consortia.
This was the case of the Hospital of Merida belonging to the Social Security Institute for State Workers (ISSSTE). The company Marhnos contracted IDOM to develop the Scheme Design for the first tender of the ISSSTE, a 12,500 m2 hospital with 66 beds located in Merida in the State of Yucatan. Although the proposal did not win, the evaluation of the selection committee was very positive.
