Nicaragua. Substations and High Voltage Transmission Lines
7 PROJECTS TO IMPROVE THE NATIONAL ELECTRIC TRANSMISSION SYSTEM - PNESER
The National Electric Transmission Company of Nicaragua (ENATREL) has launched the National Program for Sustainable Electrification and Renewable Energy (PNESER) which includes important projects to reinforce and improve the electric transmission system at national level.
This has been possible thanks to funding from, among others, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), the European Investment Bank (EIB), the EU, and the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID).
As part of a consortium, IDOM has been awarded one of the most important projects of PNESER: the technical-environmental supervision for seven reinforcement projects for substations and 138 kV and 230 kV transmission lines. The primary objective is to guarantee the good use of funding in all phases of the projects: design, procurement and construction management (including testing and commissioning).
The contract, corresponding to the provision of services as Project Manager Contractor, commenced in 2016 and is expected to finalize in early 2018.
