Speaking on Smart Cities at the Royal Institute of British Architects

JAVIER QUINTANA, DIRECTOR OF OUR LONDON OFFICE, PARTICIPATED IN THE EVENT AS PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL ON TALL BUILDINGS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM

On January 31st, the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH), celebrated, on the occasion of its 50th anniversary, a conference on Smart Cities at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

An international non-profit organization that focuses its activities in the field of urban design and high-rise construction, the CTBUH brought together experts in the sector to discuss the “City of the Future”, a city that must be “sustainable, intelligent, socially responsible…”. The speakers discussed issues such as the impact of artificial intelligence on the built environment, presented possible methods to improve the interactions between smart cities and smart buildings and looked back to review what has happened in the last fifty years.

Among them were Peter Murray of the New London Architecture & Wordsearch, Simon Giles of Tyrens London, Carolyn Dwyer of the City of London Corporation, David Nicholl of ABB, and Patrik Schumacher of Zaha Hadid Architects.

Javier Quintana de Uña, director of IDOM London, and President of the Council on Tall Buildings in the United Kingdom took charge of introducing the presentation and closing of the event.
