The minister presented the new tolling system to the media

On July 10, 2019, the Minister of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure of Republic of Croatia, Oleg Butković, presented to the media, the new tolling system to be implemented in the country. Multi-lane free flow and ALPR (automatic license plate recognition) technologies will be used. The scope and approach are included in the “Tolling strategy report” drafted by IDOM, as part of the project “Study on the development of electronic toll collection system in the Republic of Croatia”, funded by World Bank. The event was attended by a specialist team from IDOM.

IDOM has developed the phase 1 of the project: a study of the technological alternatives, criteria, and benchmarking in order to define the new tolling system. This system will be implemented on more than 1,000 km of existing national motorways, under concession to HAC and ARZ.
