Cerro Negro Norte – Improvement Project
Chile
Owned by Compañía Minera del Pacífico (CMP), part of the CAP group, the Cerro Negro Norte Mine is located in the Atacama region, Chile. The site is made up of a mine-plant complex in which open-pit mineral exploitation and processing are carried out. It is dedicated to the production of Pellet Feed (iron concentrate), which is transported in the form of pulp to the facilities of Puerto Punta Totoralillo, from where it is shipped to its final destination.
CMP is developing the Cerro Negro Norte Improvement Project, corresponding to the optimization of the Mineral Comminution Plant and the Concentrator Plant, including filtering and tailings management, among others. The main objective of the contemplated projects is to increase the processing capacity of the plant, in turn increasing the production of pellet feed.
IDOM has developed the review services of the study -IPR- contemplating the following areas of action of the project:
- Geology and Mineral Resources
- Mining
- Processing
- Beneficiation Plants
- Infrastructures
- Human Resources
- Health and Safety
- Environment
- Constructibility
