Committed to innovation
THE PORT AUTHORITY OF ALGECIRAS PUBLISHES AN INTERVIEW WITH MARTA ALBERTÍ
“To innovate is to successfully exploit new ideas, that is, to bring something new to the market, be it a product, a service or a business model.”
These were the opening words of the interview in Spanish with Marta Albertí, an Innovation Consultant at IDOM. The Bahía de Algeciras Port Authority (APBA) has published the interview in its Annual R & D & I Report.
Among the different innovation topics discussed, Marta highlighted the important role that people play in ensuring the innovative transformation of companies. In her words, to initiate any change in an organization, the commitment of Management is fundamental. An in-company culture of innovation must be promoted, through leadership based on trust, in which everyone in the organization takes on the risk of innovating.
Likewise, speaking about Public Procurement of Innovation, Marta explained the benefits of this solution for both public and private companies that participate in the procurement process. Public companies can acquire products and services that meet their specific needs, whereas public companies can innovate by first having a reference client who also finances innovation.
