Producing 100,000 tests a day
TO FIGHT AGAINST THE CORONAVIRUS
Given the increase in demand for Covid-19 tests, in March, Certest Biotec, a leading international company in the biotechnology sector, which was already manufacturing 60,000 tests daily, asked us for assistance in urgently adapting their existing facilities and, in turn, increase production to 100,000 tests.
The reform consisted of converting a room into a kit production laboratory. In just 4 weeks the design was completed, the works were contracted and carried out, installing the heavy lyophilation equipment, necessary for the production of tests. This equipment had to be connected to the air conditioning system, ventilation, water intake, drainage network and electrical network.
Aware of the challenge posed by this project, not only to serve our client but also to contribute to the general interest of the country, we quickly mobilized a team of IDOM specialists, who carried out the work with the added difficulty of confinement, teleworking from home, the restrictions imposed on movement and the risk of exposing people during the monitoring of works. For the latter, special security protocols were established.
We are proud to have successfully completed this project, and to have accompanied Certest Biotec for more than 15 years since we designed the first headquarter building and its subsequent extensions.
