9th Hospital Infrastructure Congress
THE NEW WAY OF BUILDING
Between the 15 and 18 of December 2020, the ninth edition of the Chilean Hospital Infrastructure Congress took place, this time online. Recognized as the most important congress of this type in all of Latin America, the event is aimed at all professionals in the field of hospital infrastructure, from architects, engineers or builders to bioengineers, managers or clinical physicians in charge of hospital services and health in general, such as administrative or maintenance managers. In this edition, over 2,300 people from 26 different countries tuned into the conference, and there were 53 speakers from different fields.
Under the slogan “The new way of building”, different core areas were analyzed, areas in which the hospital complex is affected or favored, especially in this period of health emergency. They talked about evacuation strategies, innovation in safety and well-being, emergency hospital infrastructures and what has been learned in this regard during the pandemic… Rui Maia participated on the 16th on behalf of IDOM with a conference that, under the title: “How hospitals should prepare for large-scale events”, presented the strategies that hospitals should apply to be able to cope, in the best possible way, with future situations such as the one currently happening.
The next edition of the congress will take place in 2022.
