STEEL TECH – Congress & Expo
From October 19 to 21, at the Bilbao Exhibition Center (BEC)
In its first edition, STEEL TECH Congress & Expo aims to be the international reference event in southern Europe in the steel sector.
In addition to the technical congress where innovation and technological advances in the steel sector will be discussed (Click to see the program), there will be an exhibition area where companies will have their stands (Click to see a list of exhibitors). The event will be a platform to make contact with participants, foster business relationships and exchange information.
The exhibition area will offer activities such as Innovation Workshops, a Poster Area or Networking Activities including B2B meetings, Afterwork Drinks on the first day and a Gala Dinner on the 20th.
It is expected that around 100 people will attend the technical congress and that some 500 professionals from the sector will participate in the overall event, both national and foreign (Germany, France, Italy, Chile, Ecuador, Oman, Nigueria, Pakistan, India, Morocco…). Several national and international steel producers have already confirmed their attendance: Sidenor, ArcelorMittal, Aceros inoxidables Olarra, Acería de Álava (Tubacex Group), ANDEC (Ecuador), ESSAR MINMET (India), ERG Group (Kazakhstan), Maghreb Steel (Morocco), Jindal Shadeed Iron & Steel and MISCO (Oman), Karachi Steel and Amreli Steels (Pakistan) among others.

IDOM is part of both the executive committee and the scientific committee of the Congress. In addition to participating in B2B meetings and having an exhibition stand; our colleagues Miles Shephard and Patxi Etxaniz will give two technical presentations.
Miles will speak about The use of digital tools in steelmaking plants - how to be present in absentia, while Patxi’s presentation will be on The use of Steel in the emerging wave energy sector.
