The Climate Finance Accelerator in Mexico announces the first group of innovative projects.
The Climate Finance Accelerator (CFA) programme in Mexico, implemented by IDOM and funded by the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) of the United Kingdom government, announced the selection of 10 innovative projects that reduce carbon emissions to access financing, after excelling in a national call for projects. The selected projects span the waste management, water, energy, housing, land use and reforestation sectors.
The CFA is part of the efforts between Mexico and the United Kingdom to face climate change, through enabling access to financing for projects with technologies or business models that reduce carbon emissions.
The projects will receive technical assistance and support for capacity development in areas such as mixed financing mechanisms (public and private sources), financial modeling, pitching materials and preparation, as well as advice to improve its impact in terms of gender equality and social inclusion.
