Feasibility analysis and master plan for the New Port of Manzanillo

As part of its growth and expansion, the Port of Manzanillo began by considered the construction of a new port in the Cuyutlán Lagoon.

The project included the development of 74 hectares including a container terminal of 3.5 million TEUs capacity, an agricultural bulk terminal and a mineral bulk terminal of 2 million tons per year each, a hydrocarbon terminal with 2.5 million tons of annual capacity, in addition to the dredging of the lagoon to an average depth of 18m, the construction of access roads, a tunnel connecting both ports, a customs office and an intermodal railroad terminal, with capacity to handle 10,000 trucks per year.

IDOM identified the most suitable alternative for its development, dimensioned the terminals and their development by phases, defining the necessary port facilities and land access to the port, defined layout alternatives, ensured the technical and economic feasibility of the project, as well as developed a rendering and video of the terminals for subsequent processes of attracting investors.
