Youngwaterhack!!
An initiative of the International Water Association (IWA), by the Young Water Professionals Spanish Chapter (YWP Spain). With the aim of training the new generation of water leaders, offering support to the sector through actions aimed at attracting young professionals and ensuring that they reach their full professional potential.
IDOM was one of the sponsors of the event along with other Spanish companies and organizations in the water sector.
It was held online on November 22 and 29 and in person on December 1 in Madrid. It was a hackathon for students with an interest in the water sector. The aim of the hackathon was to generate innovative solutions for the sustainable use of water as a key element in the fight against the climate crisis and, in doing so, to showcase young talent.
The event had a jury of experts and was sponsored by leading national and international entities in the management of the water cycle. In addition, the event included training sessions with the presence of Young Water Professionals who accompanied the participants as mentors.
IDOM participated in all stages, with Elena Calcerrada as a mentor and Jose Luis Palencia as a member of the jury. In addition, Manuel Flores participated on Thursday 30 in the online session as a speaker to present some of IDOM’s most emblematic projects such as Gorona del viento and OHRID Lake, which could serve as an example and inspiration to solve the challenges of the hackathon.
