IDOM, a stakeholder at the 10th World Water Forum in Indonesia

IDOM participated in the 10th World Water Forum held in Indonesia from May 18-25 under the theme “Water for Shared Prosperity”. In this edition, the total number of participants and visitors was about 64 thousand people.

During the Forum, we played an active role in the numerous sessions related to the main themes of the Forum: Water and Peace; Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH); and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). In these sessions, we engaged in dialogue and shared experiences based on IDOM’s extensive expertise in these areas. We also participated in the high-level panels and the numerous multicultural meetings around the pavilions of the participating countries. The important position of Spain is worth mentioning.

Our colleague Elena Calcerrada Romero was selected as the delegate from Spain to represent the voice of youth by the World Youth Parliament for Water, an observer to the Forum. Elena also chaired the Disaster Risk Reduction part of the Declaration. She will open the second day’s highlights.

Organized by the World Water Council since 1997, the Forum is the largest global event on water, bringing together governments, international organizations, experts and stakeholders to collaborate on global water challenges. In addition, the event provides a unique platform for the international water community and key decision-makers to work together to make progress on global water challenges in the long term.

We are ever more committed to developing innovative solutions to meet the global challenges of water!
