The objective of IDOM in this project is to assist the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in providing strategic advice for the deployment of smart city technologies in Zaporizhia. This project includes:
- Development of Zaporizhzhia’s smart city 2.0 strategy:
- Specialized assistance.
- Review of strategic documents.
- Support in the development of specific sub-sectors or technologies.
- Consulting in e-governance and community participation:
- Smart municipal infrastructure development.
To achieve these objectives, our analysis focuses on the following activities:
- Benchmarking:
- Analysis of best practices in other smart cities.
- Identification of successful examples applicable to Zaporizhzhia.
- Functional definition of the Smart City Platform:
- Analysis of existing infrastructure and ongoing projects.
- Consideration of different layers (services, communication infrastructures, data relations).
- Creation of a flowchart model for data transfer from devices to the Smart City platform.
- Key performance indicators (KPI):
- Assessment of the city’s intelligence and sustainability.
- Definition of the Smart City business model:
- Organizational and financing models for smart city municipal enterprises.
- Development of business models that generate their own revenues.
- Policy recommendation:
- Analysis of Ukrainian legislation on data privacy and cyber security.
- Identification of influential stakeholders for the future Smart City Platform.
- Recommendations for data management and open data strategy.
