Public Procurement of Innovation (PPI) – Technical Office

The main objective of the Institute for Business Competitiveness (ICE) of Castilla y León is to promote the competitiveness of the productive system in the region.

For this reason, it has driven the creation of the Technical Office for Public Procurement of Innovation (PPI) with the aim of promoting innovation in the region through the activation and technical assistance in PPI processes. This Technical Office has been integrally managed by IDOM.

Throughout the project, IDOM has carried out the following activities:

• Planning, organization and operational management of the Technical Office, including coordination with other entities, contingency management, and monitoring and evaluation of the activities and projects developed within the framework of the CPI Scale program.
• Identification, promotion and advice on Public Procurement of Innovation processes. This work involves collaboration with regional public entities, the dynamization of participatory processes, the identification of PPI opportunities and the promotion of their development.
• Technical support in R&D&I procurement processes promoted by ICE, as well as in those driven by the interest of entities linked to the Junta de Castilla y León.

Definition of a communication and graphic image plan and development of communication actions aimed at disseminating and bringing the activities carried out closer to the regional innovation ecosystem.

The Technical Office for Public Procurement of Innovation project has established a model for the management and promotion of PPI in Castilla y León, establishing a management structure that has facilitated the coordination between different entities and the implementation of projects. PPI opportunities have been identified and promoted, boosting the participation of public and private entities in innovative processes. In addition, technical assistance has been provided in R&D&I contracting processes, contributing to the success of projects promoted by the ICE and other regional entities.
