Discussing smart technologies at the Sports World Congress
The 2025 edition of the Sports World Congress was held in Barcelona from February 3 to 5. This event convened clubs, federations, media representatives, brands, and design firms.
The event took place at the Torre Melina Gran Meilá Hotel and was organized into two sections:
1.- February 3: Venues. Stadium Forum
The new trends and technologies that are beginning to be implemented were discussed, incorporating the most cutting-edge companies that had the opportunity to present their products into the debate.
Our colleague Javier Dávila participated in the panel entitled Smart & Safety Stadium, analyzing the main challenges, from the perspective of integrated design, for the implementation of smart technologies and design solutions in stadiums, with the aim of improving safety and operational efficiency.
2.- February 4: Horizon. Impact Forum
During the day, the positive impact that the organization of large events can have on the cities involved and even on entire countries was analyzed.
Topics covered included investment, tourism, social and environmental impact, legacy, and citizen participation.
Finally, on the 5th, attendees visited the ISE (Integrated Systems Europe) 2025 fair, which was held in parallel and included a top-level sports technology program, with keynote speakers and sports startups in the “Innovation Park”, which allowed participants to discuss the latest applications of AI in sport, the fan experience through VR/ AR/ MR/ XR, ticketing, video analysis, drones, automatic cameras, etc.
Speakers included representatives from the Royal Spanish Football Federation, Sonarges (Morocco), La Liga, Microsoft, Figueras Seating, and DAXN. National and international political figures also attended.
