Contribution of IDOM to the development of a strategic rail branch line in Tabasco

IDOM is participating in the construction of an important railway branch for the development of infrastructure in Mexico. This project will connect the Dos Bocas Refinery to the FA line of the National Railway System through a single track of approximately 93 kilometers that will cross the municipalities of Huimanguillo, Cárdenas, Cunduacán, Comalcalco and Paraíso, in the state of Tabasco.

The implementation of this railroad branch is a fundamental piece in the development of the Interoceanic Corridor, with the potential to transform the regional and national economy in the long term. By optimizing the logistics of transporting goods and products from the port and refinery, this new infrastructure will reduce costs and travel times, improving the region’s logistical competitiveness.

In addition to the economic benefits, the project will have a positive impact on sustainability by reducing dependence on road transportation and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The design and construction of this branch is a major technical challenge due to the demands of the construction schedule and the extreme climatic conditions of the region. It is planned to implement a drainage system with more than 200 cross-drainage structures (ODT), dozens of bridges and embankments, which will guarantee the safety and functionality of the railway system in the long term.

At IDOM we remain committed to developing innovative and sustainable solutions that contribute to the progress of infrastructure in Mexico and the region.
