Aceros Arequipa fires up its new rolling mill
On Sunday, February 16, after two years of joint work between Aceros Arequipa, DANIELI and IDOM, the first hot rolling test of the Rolling Mill N°03 was successfully completed. The first 15.9 mm rebar reached the existing cooling plate, with the support of the new WTP3, recovered from RM1, after passing through the new RHF, 18 rolling boxes, QTB.
To mark this important milestone, we would like to thank everyone for their hard work, dedication and enthusiasm.
Since 2017, Aceros Arequipa has entrusted IDOM with the development of several EPCMs, including a steel mill, the RM1 and RM3 rolling mills, the lime plant, the new VD, the Lurin Distribution Center…).
Together, we have faced situations as complex as the pandemic and the restrictions it entailed, with displaced and expatriated teams. The effort and commitment of everyone went beyond the mere fulfillment of the contracts, which allowed us to minimize the impact of this “black swan” on the project. We adapted solutions and strategies and directed them in the interest of Aceros Arequipa and the project, strengthening the professional and personal bonds of all the people involved.
