Ana Botín: Banco Santander’s new headquarters is “innovative” and “sustainable”
The bank's president praises the Hernán Cortés building at its inauguration
Banco Santander inaugurated its new regional headquarters in its home city on 28 July.
The Hernán Cortés building has undergone a transformation that, according to Ana Botín, has restored its historical value.
It was a very special moment for us, after nearly four years of being linked to the building and living through the whole process of transformation. Firstly, by developing the execution project (the basic design was done by the Cruz y Ortiz studio) and then as project managers.
The inauguration was attended by over a hundred people from the political, economic, and social spheres. Among them was our colleague Beatriz Olalla, representing IDOM.
During the event, the bank’s president expressly thanked the architects, construction companies and the entire team that made the refurbishment possible.
The new headquarters was presented as one of the most modern facilities in Santander and “the most sustainable building that can be built today”.
