ArcGIS Roads and Highways: A key tool for the transport community of the Western Balkans
The IDOM DT team has designed and developed an innovative transport management system for the transport community. In collaboration with Esri, IDOM selected ArcGIS Roads and Highways as the core technology to build the Transport Observatory Database / Information System (TODIS), a platform for monitoring the performance of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T).
The transport community now has a powerful tool thanks to the implementation of ArcGIS Roads and Highways:
- Collect and manage large volumes of data: The platform enables the collection and storage of detailed information about the transportation infrastructure, facilitating its analysis and visualization.
- Improve decision making: By analyzing collected data, managers can identify trends, evaluate network performance, and make strategic decisions to improve connectivity and mobility.
- Facilitate collaboration: The platform enables multiple users to collaborate on data collection and updates, ensuring consistency and quality of information.
This IDOM solution is unique in that it can:
- Adapt to the complexity of the TEN-T network: With linear referencing, the platform allows you to efficiently manage the wide variety of elements that make up the network, from roads and railways to ports and airports.
- Simplify data entry: Users can intuitively enter information without the need for specialized GIS skills.
- Visualize results clearly and concisely: The platform offers a wide range of visualization tools that make it quick and easy to understand the information collected.
With this project, IDOM demonstrates its capability to develop innovative technological solutions that contribute to improving the efficiency and sustainability of transportation infrastructures.
