“Hospital architecture and empathy”
Technical Seminar at the Architects' Association of Madrid
On April 4th last the Architects’ Association of Madrid (COAM) held a MEETMAT technical seminar as part of its sustainability series “Hospital architecture and empathy”.
During the event, professionals from the sector reflected, from different angles, on how architectural design and the use of materials and construction solutions influenced the way in which healthcare spaces are occupied in a comfortable and sustainable way.
Our colleague Rui Maia opened the seminar by presenting the Portuguese CUF Descobertas hospital case. The line-up was completed by José Luis Candia (Manager of Grupo Lledó), Alberto Sáez (Architect and Projects Director at Enero Arquitectura), Marta Parra (Architect at PARRA-MULLER Maternity Ward Architecture), Rita Barata (Architect at PMMT and FRIENDLY MATERIALS Manager), Peter Mayer (Technical Department at KEIM ECOPAINT IBERICA) and Esteban Domínguez (PhD in Industrial Engineering and Technical Director at ACIX).
With a hundred people from different professions that showed genuine interest in the topic, the venue was filled to capacity.
