Award for the “Taweelah Desalination Plant Project”
IDOM has been awarded by MEED as the UAE Desalination Project 2022
IDOM has recently been awarded the national award for the Desalination Project of the Year 2022 in the UAE for the Taweelah Seawater Desalination Plant Project (200 MIGD). IDOM has developed the basic and detailed engineering of the part of the project within the scope of SEPCOIII, as well as the integration of the engineering developed by the other partner of the consortium (ABENGOA). SEPCOIII, the leading company of the consortium, has also been chosen in the category of constructor for this same project.
The awards ceremony will be held on November 23, 2022 in Dubai, where the MENA winners for each category will also be announced. IDOM is also in the running for this award in the Desalination Project category for 2022.
The Taweelah plant project stands out not only because it will be the largest reverse osmosis seawater desalination plant in the world (909,000 m³/day), but also because of the integration of the largest photovoltaic park in a desalination plant (70 MW).
