From the city that gave the world the Paris Agreement in 2015, the Olympics are doing their bit for decarbonization

The Olympic Games currently being held in Paris are being billed as the most sustainable in history.

The key points of its sustainability strategy are as follows:

  • A circular approach to all decisions.
  • Reuse and adaptation of stadiums and sports facilities.
  • Decarbonization efforts, including Scope 3 (indirect emissions).
  • New buildings with lower carbon intensity.
  • Use of bio-based materials, timber construction.
  • Accessibility of facilities by public transport.
  • Paris 2024 Pass to facilitate the movement of spectators and fans.
  • Furniture design based on the reuse of materials.
  • The Olympic Village will generate renewable energy such as geothermal and solar.
  • Official fleet of electric and hydrogen vehicles.

We are part of these initiatives that not only reduce the environmental impact of the Games, but also inspire other events and society at large to adopt more sustainable practices.
