IDOM at the kick off meeting in preparation for the 2027 world water forum in Riyadh

IDOM proudly took part in the kick-off of the first preparatory meeting for the 11th World Water Forum, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Scheduled for March 2027, the forum is set to become one of the most significant global platforms for addressing water-related challenges and shaping the future of sustainable water management.

The event brought together key figures including Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Shaibani, Deputy Minister for Water at the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, and Mr. Loïc Fauchon, President of the World Water Council, alongside a broad range of international experts and specialists.

As representatives of IDOM, our water engineers were honored to attend this high-level gathering, contributing to the global conversation and reinforcing our role in supporting innovative and sustainable solutions for the water sector.

The discussions focused on defining global water priorities, addressing water scarcity, and promoting sustainability through actionable strategies over the next three years. Dr. Al-Shaibani highlighted Saudi Arabia’s major achievements and reforms in the water sector under Vision 2030, which have significantly improved planning, management, and service delivery.

Mr. Fauchon praised Saudi Arabia’s leadership in desalination, water reuse, and demand management, calling the Kingdom a rising global hub for water innovation and security.

With Saudi Arabia producing around 15 million cubic meters of desalinated water daily, and showing clear progress in water conservation and recycling, the groundwork is being laid for a successful World Water Forum in 2027.

Our participation in this event reflects IDOM’s commitment to staying at the forefront of global developments in water infrastructure and sustainability.
