On August 21st 2019, IDOM was acknowledged as a BIM Leader Company in MEP Engineering (Building Services) by its peers in Chile, through the 2019 BIM National Survey carried out by the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning of the University of Chile. 1,729 people in Chile went online to take part in the survey and 73% of them were professionals from the fields of architecture, engineering or construction.
Pablo Dominguez, in charge of MEP at the IDOM Chile office, Rosaina Ferreiras, BIM Manager in Chile and Carlos Ayala, MEP Coordinator, received the recognition in name of the company.
Thanks to IDOM’s commitment to digital transformation and innovation in the way of engineering, we have developed large scale projects in Chile such as the extension of the Santiago Airport or Line 6 of the Santiago Metro, all of which were carried out under our own BIM methodology which we have matured over the last decade. Our methodology is based on developing projects using BIM from the very beginning, using compatible analysis and modelling software and automating the calculations and processes in these programmes, allowing us to make the most of BIM and its possibilities.
