IDOM plays a role in defining the port of the future: digital and sustainable
The FuturePort congress took place during World Maritime Week
The congress, in its fourth edition, has counted on the participation of international experts in port activity showing the advances in digitization, process automation, security and sustainability.
Our Director of Ports and Logistics, Javier Erice Elejoste was in charge of moderating the table of practical cases with the participation of José Ramón Iribarren, CEO of SIPORT21; Stefan Van Hooydonck, Business Solutions Architect of the Port of Antwerp-Brujas; and Alex Gárate Arrazola, Director of Ingreen.
They discussed how the ports of the future will be smart, with increased port sensorization and artificial intelligence, machine learning and big data solutions. Case studies were also presented on digital twins for planning and predictive management, which provide real-time data and can make predictions using historical data to improve safety and operations.
IDOM participated in the first edition of the WMW Awards where Javier Erice presented the Future Port award to the most innovative and sustainable project, which this time went to the Port of Vigo with its Living Ports proposal.
