India is prioritizing the fight against climate change
All about the India-Europe Business and Sustainability Conclave
From February 28 to March 1, the India-Europe Business and Sustainability Conclave took place in Delhi, where experts from both regions discussed the future of the country and sustainable development.
Organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it aimed to strengthen trade and investment relations between Europe and India, with a focus on #sustainability.
The conference focused on the promotion of high environmental standards, the development of the green economy and the importance of implementing technologies to achieve energy decarbonization and real energy efficiency.
Representing IDOM at the Green Infrastructures session was Tono Fernández Usón, Director of Mixed Use.
In his presentation (See presentation. Starting at 1:22:00), he emphasized the need to establish a regulatory framework, the importance of transdisciplinarity, the development of technologies applied to both project development and monitoring, and the conceptual potential of ancestral green infrastructure solutions as inspiration for developing efficient solutions in the present.
According to Nina Fenton, Head of the European Investment Bank’s Regional Representation for South Asia, US$5 billion has been invested in India, 90% of which is related to climate change, especially in clean and green transportation.
