Our second railway project in Latvia
Our other projects for Rail Baltica are progressing well
IDOM has been awarded the project for a new section of Rail Baltica, the important project to connect the Baltic States (Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia), Poland and, indirectly, Finland with the current European rail network.
This latest project includes the stretch of rail located in Latvia, from the Misa river (south of Riga) to the border with Lithuania. Based on the preliminary design, the project includes a 45 km high-performance railway infrastructure, 4 railway bridges, 16 road viaducts and another 4 railways, in addition to 54 culverts and an animal crossing. The scope of the contract includes value engineering, master design, the detailed technical design and site investigations, as well as author supervision during the entire construction phase.
These figures must be added to the 5 projects that IDOM has been developing since 2019 with Rail Baltica: 344 km of high-performance rail with a design speed of 249 km/h.
Despite the current COVID-19 crisis, all projects are progressing at a good pace. IDOM, using the latest communication tools and technical means available, is providing the usual level of excellence in the development of the work, to achieve all milestones and objectives, while maintaining close proximity to the client.
