Smart Territory Forum 2024: Building the future of southern Santander
The South of Santander is emerging as a key region for the economic and business development of the Department of Santander, a political division of Colombia, and its potential is at the centre of the discussion. In this context, Fenalco Sur de Santander, the Bucaramanga Chamber of Commerce and UNISANGIL have organised the Smart Territory Forum 2024, an event designed to chart the path towards a sustainable and competitive future for the region over the next 30 years.
The Forum brought together more than 300 regional leaders, entrepreneurs and business people, fostering collaboration around a shared strategic vision. The focus of this year’s edition was the success story of Barranquilla: Barranquilla, exploring how the strategies applied in this city can be adapted to transform the south of Santander into a benchmark of sustainability.
Among the featured panelists were Camila Londoño, managing partner of Cities & Territories, who shared the stage with Carlos Acosta, former president of Puerta de Oro, Lanny Karol Quintero, Secretary of Finance of the Government of Bolivar, and Catalina Cardenas, Director of Cities and Competitiveness of FINDETER. Their participation enriched the debate, providing valuable perspectives on the co-creation of smart territories.
The event also included presentations by experts in sustainable development, who shared practical tools and global experiences to inspire a solid action plan for the region. This space for dialogue identified opportunities for transformation, promoted strategic alliances and reaffirmed the collective commitment to build a more prosperous and cohesive southern Santander.
