Speaking at the World Stadium Congress
SHARING EXPERIENCE IN THE FIELD OF STADIA AND SPORTS ARENAS
The World Stadium Congress, considered one of the Most Important Events in Sports Architecture, held its 2016 edition in Doha, Qatar.
The congress was held in association with the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, the qatari body responsible for the 2022 Football World Cup. This was the third consecutive year for IDOM at the congress. As the World Cup draws close, the congress is focusing more on suppliers of technical solutions for the construction of the Stadia, and the management of these infrastructure once the event has finished.
It is with this in mind that Javier Pérez Uribarri from IDOM, and Koldo Olabarrieta representing the Bilbao City Council, showcased the Bilbao Arena. This infrastructure, which was entirely designed by IDOM, is 100% managed by the City Council. The presentation covered elements of the design which have enabled its correct operation.
At the same event, Javier Dávila, also from IDOM, made a presentation entitled IDOM on Future Concepts: Current concerns. This presentation described IDOM’s perspective on the design trends in relation to Stadia and and sports arenas.
