SHARING EXPERIENCE AT THE VI EDITION OF THE INTERNATIONAL ENCOUNTER
Since 2008, the network of researchers of Industrial Heritage in Guatemala – as part of ARQUINDUGUA – have been holding an annual event whose main objectives include contributing to the knowledge base of this area of national history.
The VI edition of the event was held at the Railway Museum of Guatemala City in early October 2016 and included the presence of speakers from several countries such as El Salvador, Mexico, Brazil, Spain and Guatemala itself.
Borja Aróstegui from IDOM, made a presentation entitled, “The recovery and enhancement of industrial railway heritage in Europe”. He also spoke of the opportunity to preserve industrial heritage in the projects being developed IDOM for Metro Reil and the State Authorities Centro Administrativo del Estado – CAE.
His presentation generated great discussion, given its importance for inhabitants of the city.
