The new Alierta Technology District, an international technology city masterplan
Imagine a technology district in a green lung, surrounded by trees, next to the river and covering no less than 79 hectares. It will be a place where universities, research and business centers, SMEs and large national and international technology companies will coexist, as well as housing (cohousing and hospitality) and other complementary uses and services. This is what the new Alierta Technology District in Aragon will be, located on the campus of the University of the Rio Ebro (Zaragoza), a project that will become a reality in 2029.
On January 20, the official presentation took place at an event organized by the Gobierno de Aragón – Government of Aragon and Ayuntamiento de Zaragoza, where our colleagues Tono Fernandez Usón and Eduardo Aragües presented the Master Plan.
Its ambition! To develop “the best possible innovation ecosystem,” with the goal of becoming one of the most important in Spain and Europe, says Eduardo.
To create an urban and business environment that is conducive to the creation of innovation companies, and to promote the creation of a public-private innovation ecosystem that favors the development of new companies and initiatives in Aragon.
Work will commence in 2027.
