The new Estadio de la Cerámica, a stadium with the stamp of IDOM
A project uniting the stadium architecturally, improving the experience of the fans
On Wednesday May 11, Villarreal CF presented the stadium reform project, under the leadership of IDOM. The metamorphosis of the Cerámica stadium will provide it with architectural unity, improving the quality and experience of the fans at the football grounds, creating an incomparable football atmosphere where incredible sensations will be experienced. For all this, the following works will be carried out:
1.- The construction of a new corner stand, between the Preferencia and Fondo Sur stands, thereby enclosing the stadium in its entirety.
2.- Covering the entire capacity of the stadium, the new roof will house all the infrastructure for television broadcasts and improve the quality and experience of the fans, adding two 21×7 meter video scoreboards (300m2 of screen), a spectacular public address system, new LED sports and architectural lighting and the installation of the Sky-Cam.
3.- The creation of new interior spaces: a multipurpose room at the top of the Fondo Sur stand with views of the playing field and the square behind the stadium, the comprehensive refurbishment of the Entrelíneas Restaurant and a new space for the Villarreal CF museum.
4.- The total renewal of the stadium seating.
In addition, a commitment has been made to renewable energies, with the installation of photovoltaic panels on the roof, supplying the stadium.
The works will begin in May 2022 and are expected to be completed by the end of December 2022.
