Valle del Cauca (Colombia) commuter train feasibility studies successfully completed
The feasibility studies for the Valle del Cauca Commuter Train (TCV), prepared by IDOM for the UK Government’s National Development Finance and Prosperity Programme, have been completed. On this occasion, the feasibility studies were officially handed over to the newly elected governors, who will continue the bidding process for the project in 2024.
The project, led by Lucas Alvarez, is 23.4 km long and has 21 stations. The proposal includes advanced infrastructure with traffic light priority, a standard gauge double track platform and electric catenary.
This initiative aims to improve connectivity and mobility in the Cali metropolitan area and surrounding municipalities, benefiting more than 3 million inhabitants.
