We’re still on the ground at COP16 in Riyadh!
Over the past few days, we have been actively involved in key events in both the blue zone and the green zone, reinforcing our commitment to nature conservation and land restoration.
Ministerial dialogue day
Our colleague Maya Al-Hajj Lattouf took part in a panel discussion highlighting the importance of contingency planning and risk assessment to ensure the safety of the food supply chain. Protecting the supply chain today means ensuring food safety in the future.
Land day
María Álvarez Mingorance and Maya Al-Hajj Lattouf spoke at the Business for Land (B4L) session, sharing their knowledge on integrated solutions for land restoration, climate change and water-related challenges.
That same day, Fernando Pérez represented IDOM at the Net Positive Water Initiative (NPWI) sponsored by MAEE (National Efficiency and Conservation Center). Where we formally committed to participate alongside leading companies such as Maaden, SABIC, PepsiCo, Almarai and Nova. This initiative aims to promote water management efficiency over a six-year horizon.
Being at the Green Zone was also an opportunity to further develop our relationship with MEWA, the National Meteorological Centre, the Saudi Environment Fund and key initiatives like Greening Arabia 2024.
At IDOM, we are part of the global effort to combat desertification, land degradation and drought.
