Winding down COP16: IDOM’s thoughts and achievements
After an intense few days in Riyadh, COP16 leaves us with valuable insights, new alliances and a strong commitment to sustainable development.
During this last week, we were honoured to participate in the panel organised by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture on the National Programme to Maximise the Use of Renewable Water – Sustainable Agrocities. Our colleagues Tyson Doyle and Alonso Malo-Juvera presented the Agrocity Project, underlining how this model:
- Promotes greening and preservation of the environment.
- Contributes to food security and efficient use of recycled water.
- Integrates renewable energies for sustainable solutions.
- Generates employment, improves quality of life and strengthens access to global markets.
From the Blue Zone to the Green Zone, we have been part of initiatives such as the Net Positive Water Initiative and have strengthened partnerships with key institutions to tackle global challenges together.
At COP16, we reaffirmed our commitment towards working with Saudi institutions in building more resilient, sustainable and future-ready cities and regions.
