Winner of the tender for the remodeling of the finca El Batán
We are pleased to announce that the proposal submitted by our Landscape Team, under the slogan “Between Plants and Play”, has been selected as the winner of the competition organized by the City Council of San Fernando de Henares, in collaboration with the Madrid College of Architects, for the transformation of a plot of land in the peri-urban environment of the city. The project aims to transform the “Finca El Batán”, an area of 60,000 m², into a new green space for the community.
This space, historically linked to the Jarama River, will be the perfect place for a park, garden or meeting place that will provide new opportunities for leisure and enjoyment for the residents of San Fernando. The proposal seeks to preserve and enhance the existing meadow and riparian vegetation, key components of local biodiversity. In addition, measures will be implemented to improve water and soil quality, promoting a healthier environment.
Evaluation of the Jury
The jury highlighted the proposal for its “study and knowledge of the site” and its “strong and simple idea”. It was particularly appreciated the ability to adapt the requested program through a landscape intervention that harmoniously integrates the natural environment and the new park. The integration of the promenade of Los Pinos, the optimization of the vehicular access and how the design favors the experience of the different users of the space were also highlighted.
A key project for the city
This new green space will not only improve the quality of life for citizens, but will also enhance the local biodiversity and natural heritage.
