Alto Tâmega hydroelectric complex – 1,158 MW

IDOM is developing the detailed engineering of the electrical system corresponding to the plant project of the Alto Tâmega Hydroelectric Complex, located in the north of Portugal.

This Iberdrola project is one of the largest of its kind carried out in Europe in the last 25 years. With a generation capacity close to 1,200 MW, it will reach an annual production close to 1,800 GWh, equivalent to 3% of the country’s electricity consumption.

The scope of services provided by IDOM includes the following:

• Gouvães: 4×220 MW (reversible hydraulic station, with storage)
• Daibões: 2×57 MW
• Alto Tâmega: 2×80 MW
