The mining company of Saudi Arabia (Ma’aden) and Alcoa developed a megaproject that initially included a bauxite mine, an alumina refinery, an aluminum smelter and an aluminum rolling mill. This project is located in Ras Al-Khair, in the northwest of Saudi Arabia.
SMS Siemag awarded IDOM the civil engineering works of its EPC contract for the construction of a new cold rolling line of aluminum sheet (CRM) and heat treatment (HTL) for aluminum sheet for later use in the automotive industry.
The scope of work includes the civil works and foundations of the equipment of both lines (CRM and HTL), as well as the technological buildings that constitute the expansion of the main lamination line, a project in which IDOM also participated.
