Analysis of the permeability of fauna on the road network of the Province of Bizkaia

IDOM has carried out an analysis of the density of wildlife roadkill on different sections of the road network of the Province of Bizkaia.
An assessment has been made to determine the sections of the road which have experienced a greater number of accidents, with the aim of proposing actions to adapt the existing infrastructure to facilitate the transit of animals. In addition, a series of measures based on nature have been designed, which have increased permeability, thus reducing the “barrier effect” of roads.
