Batán Park
Spain
The Batán site, located within the Southeast Regional Park and part of the Natura 2000 network, has been designed with special care to integrate with the natural environment, seeking to minimize the impact on biodiversity, ecosystems and landscape.
This new park has been conceived as a natural meeting place for the inhabitants of San Fernando. The sports areas are combined with bio-healthy circuits, water games and various facilities for children, such as zip lines, slides and climbing circuits. In addition, the park is conceived as a cultural space where you can enjoy concerts and conferences surrounded by nature, read under the shade of the trees or walk along educational routes that connect to the natural and historical heritage of San Fernando.
The development of the green spaces follows an environmental restoration strategy that preserves and enhances the existing landscape. The large wild meadow, which reaches its maximum splendor in spring, will receive a small boost to ensure its sustainable maintenance, allowing it to evolve into a mixed riparian and pasture forest. Thus, this former dairy farm will become a multifunctional space for enjoying nature, leisure and sports, not only for the inhabitants of San Fernando, but also for the people of Madrid in general.
