Definition of the GeoData governance model in ADNOC
United Arab Emirates
IDOM defined a comprehensive geospatial strategy for ADNOC’s core data, not only to provide a single reliable geospatial source and data model, but also to implement well-defined geospatial governance mechanisms to ensure data integrity and accuracy over time. The project was aligned with ADNOC’s digitization plan (known as Oil & Gas 4.0). Prior to the implementation of the unified geospatial database, gaps were identified in the areas of organizational structure, data governance, policies, data model, symbol library, technology and data gaps. The outcome of the project will complement ADNOC’s Vision 2030.
The project was divided into 6 phases:
- Needs assessment and geographic maturity assessment
- 5-Year Roadmap
- Data Governance Framework
- Unified Geospatial Data Model – ADNOC
- Data loading
- Oil production mapping
