Dubai Food Park is the new supply market in the city of Dubai (UAE). It is integrated into the Dubai Wholesale City (DWSC). IDOM has collaborated with Mercabarna in the development of the new logistics infrastructure, providing support with technical criteria for the development of logistics platforms and food platforms, as well as providing back-office support in the definition, research and analysis work required to carry out the project.

Dubai Wholesale City is a hub of wholesale markets focused on different sectors: food, textiles, cars and spare parts, construction materials, equipment, electronics, etc. The development will occupy a total of 5,500 hectares and will be located in a strategic location a few minutes from the port of Jebel Ali and the airport of Al Maktoum.

IDOM has collaborated with Mercabarna in the development of the “Feasibility Study and Conceptual Masterplan” phase of Dubai Food Park, the DWSC market specializing in food. The tasks carried out by IDOM include: (1) the competitiveness analysis, identifying the markets for competing supplies in the region; (2) the assessment of market needs, defining the target products and their supply chain, while dimensioning future needs (volume, flows, etc.); (3) the definition of the business model, establishing the value proposition, the personnel structure and the main revenue/cost flows; (4) the dimensioning of market elements (warehouses, loading docks, etc.); and (5) the definition of the road map and the preparation of some bases for the specifications for the development and implementation of Dubai Food Park.
